Drilled Brake Rotors, A Pain?

Good day to you all! I was thinking about putting drilled brakes rotors on my 1987 300e. However, a friend said I shouldn't unless I like getting my brake pads changed every three months, it's like a "cheese grinder" effect. Is this true?

Yes, that's the trade off. There's pros and cons to everything. With cross drilled rotor...

Yes, that's the trade off. There's pros and cons to everything. With cross drilled rotors you get better stopping power (less fade) and a trick look, but on the minus side they're expensive, are tough on the pads, and are sometimes prone to thermal cyclic fatigue cracks originating from these holes.
