Did I Do Good? 1993 300E

I just finished negotiating the purchase of a 1993 Mercedes 300E 3.2 engine for $10,700. The owner had verification of service and oil changes every 3000 miles at the local Mercedes dealership. The car has 86,000 miles on it. Interior and exterior are perfect.

I know this is after the fact, but was the purchase price reasonable? When I say negotiate, I really mean I fell for the car and just paid them what they were asking.

My last Mercedes experience was a 1982 300 SD that was fun and gorgeous but proved expensive to maintain - transmission, climate control. I hope I have better luck this time.

What colour and spec?

Have you got Leather, lots of toys and a nice colour? If so good deal.

If you have plastic or cloth, no toys and its a hrrid colour. Not so good.

Either way. I've alwys been told to buy these W124's on Service history , condition and spec not on age.

As yours has Full service history with lots of oil cheanges and for one of these a very low millage, sounds good.

It does have leather, sunroof, and I presume most of the toys found on a 300E 3.2. The color is champaign upper with darker color on bottom molding. I think it is attractive but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

I don't pick the car up until Sunday, so my tinges of buyer's remorse are worse, because I can't go look at and drive the car to remind me what a great decision I made.

Narniacsl

I know your pain of waiting. I too am in limbo waiting for my car. Three weeks ago I went under agreement to purchase a '91 300 E with 55k on the speedo for $7000. I was suppose to of taken delivery yesturday (May 14th), but unfortunitily the sellers wife went in for surgury on Thursday and is still in the hospital. He needs the car to visit her, so ofcourse I did not take it away from him. Hopefully I will get it real soon.

Congrats on your new toy when you get it.

since you've already agreed to buy the thing, there's no use wondering if you paid a good price. i'd say you could have done better, and you could have done worse. if you're truly in love with the car and can afford the price you've agreed to pay, forget about it and enjoy your new car!
