93 400E

My local dealer has a nice 400E on the lot. I was wondering what that car sold for new. It has all the options including traction control. Also any "issues" with this model? I currently own a 93 190E for the past 6 years and have not had any problems except normal maintainace items. Any imput is welcome.

M119 engines have no repution for oil or coolant leaks.

The only things to look out for in 92-93 400E's / 94-95 E420's are:

1. defective engine wiring harnesses in 92 / early 93 cars.

2. fluid leaks from power steering pumps - this happens to all 92-95 models. It is a really tight fit in the engine bay for this V8, and heat tends to be hard on the seals / hoses.

Having said that, the engine in 1992-1993 400E's was always a 4.2 liter engine. MB just changed the name to E420 in 1994 and modified the front grill / headlights.
