Accident Pics

Hi everyone,

I just thought it might interest you, seeing what a W124 looks like after a big smash. Accident happened at 11pm, raining and our car was hit side on by a car doing 60km/h who ran a red light. The other car was a statuatory write off and so was ours. As you can see, none of the windows broke and the actual drivers door still opened and closed. Who know what might have happened in another car....

It was a pretty big accident. I mean I havent all that many other cars in accidents, but it was pretty big. None of us were hurt at all and we all walked out unhurt.

I just had a little accident to, but the guy bumped me from behind goin about 5. The bumpers on both cars did their job though, and their was no damage [:D)]!

Good luck with that. Looks like a pretty deep wound. Our G-Wagen got hit pretty fast and it took a while to restore, but it got fully restored. As long as you take her to a good body shop, your in good shape.

Well the body shop that we brought it to, was an actualy Mercedes workshop. It was a repairer owned by Mercedes Benz itself. They told us that the chassis was bent and the cost of straightening it would far out do the insurance payout. Oh well thats life i guess. We are all alive and thats the main thing.

Before I bought my MB, I was saving up for a new 32 Ford custom rod that I wanted built for myself. This summer my pragmatic side got the better of me and I opted on buying a 95 E320 Cabriolet. So I sometimes present my new purchase to my friends who know me well as my "32 Ford". They understand.

One of the main reasons for buying the Benz was safety. I just wouldn't've been able to enjoy my 32 Ford daily, nor could I see myself driving it around in the crazy traffic here in the big city.

Your experience reinforces my good decision.

Mercedes-Benz safety has always amazed me. It has also made me very proud of the cars I drive. My 190E 2.6 was hit at 70mph when a huge van tried to shift lanes and hit my car from behind. The left back panel was slightly bent and the lower panel plastic fell off. It was all repaired from a high end body shop for only $2000. A Mercedes-Benz can truly save your life or reduce your injuries in an accident. 22 years ago my grandfather was driving in a W123 and was hit straight on by some teenagers speeding. He came out with a broken leg but my grandmother walked out with only a few bruises.
