An update:
I bought a gallon of MB "tickle-piddle" antifreeze, mixed it 50/50 with distilled water (are you impressed I did not use tap water?he he he), and poured about 1/2 gallon in the hole. It was thristier than it looked. That arrow mark is usless on 11 year old plastic.
Anyhoo, so far so good. I just hope it is not leaking out anywhere. Time will tell....so will the temp gauge.
BTW: I jumped the gun and bought a thermostat just in case. The stealership looked at me funny when I handed him cash. He had that condinsending look, "What, no credit card?" Anyway, he told me if I returned it unopened he could only give me a credit. I told him the car had 54,000 miles on it, and sometime between 54k and 554K I think I might need it.(grin)
Thanks again people. (grin)

Is the Mercedes anti-freeze a special formula or something? Since my car is still fairly "new" to me, I haven't needed to add any yet. Can the fanciest one from the local auto shop work or I must use the mercedes stuff?
