So took out my old radiator, easiest radiator i have ever changed! Put it on the ground next to the new one that was still strapped in the box because i was told that once the straps were cut it was non returnable. So i checked the upper and lower hose it was the same checked the tranny line those were the same checked clip placement for the radiator and the fan shroud those where all good and check the bottom peg things. All was great till i tried to put it in the car, the dam thing is about 1.5inch shorter than mine! It fits great even the pegs on the bottom line up its just too dam short! Doubled check they ordered the one for an automatic with AC and i got the right one. I am not gonna take a $150 hit and this radiator WILL go in this car dam it! So i am just gonna engineer a way to block it up but make sure the bottom is still locked in so it don't swing into the fan.
dont modify it take it back. they have to take it back if they sold you the wrong one. if they wont they are not a good company and i would take my bussiness elsewhere. but before i did i would make it dirty then take it back to them and tell them you put it in and it leaks and if they wont return it then get the replacement for the new leaking one then return the new boxed unit. i would not do this to any company that stands behind its product but if they shit on you i would shit on them
that brand is no better than the uro brand i would not use it. behr is what i would use. kragen did that to me years ago they would only exchange if it was not in original packageing so i exchaged it then returned the new part. the lady at the register was pissed but she told me the rules and i followed them to the t and the manager told her to give my money back
Nissens is my preferred brand for radiators over BEHR. I have three of them installed in all three of my E320, 1994. Working great. It is made in Belgian, not china.
i use the p/n stamped on everything but there's nothing on this old Behr radiator besides "K5". So i ordered like i always do for a 1986 190E for engine drive train stuff and suspension/body stuff i order for a 300E. This has always worked being that i had a thread a while back about getting parts and people said get motor parts for a 190E. Its not like it would have been so hard for the engineers of this car to use the same radiator as the 190E being the engine is the same...
Nissens Part #62722A (my part) specifies motor M102 with AC and automatic transmission. And being i have a 230E in the US it was either order a radiator for a 190E or a 300E(which is way to large) and the 190E radiator specified M102 engine which made it the logical choice. Also auto haus don't list non federal cars nor the dimensions of there radiators and for the same exact radiator (Nissens) was $182 not including shipping. So being that i have got all parts from Car Quest and all being quality bosch/germen and this being the first part i have got that has not fit id say i am doing pretty good so far. Upon further studying i will easily be able to fit this radiator in this car and i post later.
you may have had good luck with that brand. i used to install them as a cheaper option than factory but the upper neck was breaking off and they leaked at the seams often or leaking at the connector for the small hose to expansion tank. if you only buy 1 or 2 radiators every 5 to 10 years maybe it does not mater but i beleive that if the first one lasted 10 to 15 years than i expect the replacement to do the same. it pisses me off to have a customer come in with a radiator leak when its only five years old. yes it went past warrenty but i would not do that to my car so i wont do that to a customer car
you might be able to get correct part number from epc and take that to car quest. keep in mind if it is bolted to the engine order by 190 if its bolted to body order by chassis number
Your car uses the same radiator as a 300E and 260E
The part# applies to all 3. 230E, 260E, 300E #124-500-2420
