When I bought my 86 300E a few months back, I wa presented with a receipt for 2K worth of AC repairs which was a major factor in the decision.<br> <br> I am finding now that mine blows plenty cold but only when I am driving on the freeway. Thats a lot of money for air condition repairs. Not sure if you want to do business with that repair shop. Is this an up-grade from Freon based system? Check with my mechanic, $450 for my upgrade. City driving, it cools just fine but much cooler on the freeway. I think this is the case with most cars and in your case black make it worst. be sure to get a second opinion before spending the 2K.<br> <br> Good luck
What was done for the $2K...??<br> Sounds like the condenser is not performing well enough at low road speed. Was this changed..??<br> Check it for being clean and the rad as well.<br> You may need to get someone to check the system out.<br> Ian P.
Thanks Jeff and Ian. The receipt is suspect at best and has no mention of it being converted. There are large ticket items listed but nor do I see the word condensor as being an item that was replaced. I'll take a closer look.<br> <br> Thanks,
