Hi, i have a 86 300e and my seats are in terrible condition. I want to know how i can fix or replace them, they are flat and torn.

Is it possible to put seats from a 90 up 300e? will they fit? has anyone done it? will they fit on the front and rear?

anyone know a website to find them any used seats . or any oneknow how much it costs to replace springs and covers. thanks a lot. Hope to hear from u guys soon.
Reupolstry is very expensive. Do the web search for world of upholstery. The seats on the early 124 are just awful. I would seriously consider going to a junkyard that deals with mercedes and buy seats rather than try to reupolster. In seattle they go for around $300 which is less than the seat kit. Get late model seats which have much better designed seat pans. I have not had any experience trying to put these seats in the older series, but since it's the same chasis I can't see too many differences. I was planning on doing this myself. I would also seriously consider going with mbtex versus leather. The mbtex lasts practically forever.
I have a 1993 300D which came with MB Tex...I recently acquired a used set of Leather Seats supposedly from a 92 300E which are leather...they did not fit my 93 300D..the distance between the bolt holes was not long enough, they did not line up...they are grey leather and are in decent shape...if you are interested, measure the distance from between the 2 bolt holes in the front as well as in the back of the front seats...the rear seat fits fine on all W124s...I will be more than happy to e-mail you pictures of the seats...let me know...
gordinho80@earthlink.net...

Mario
The 1988 300ce i'm looking to buy, does have pretty uncomfortable seats. i wouldwant to replace them with the new W124 seats eventually. I would be interested if that was possible.
