W124 230E Auto Transmission won't ignite at Neutral - Benzworld.org

How to fix this problem? My 1986 Auto 230E does not response to ignition at neutral. The only way to start the car is to ignite when the gear is at parking mode. Anybody know how to fix this?

Why would you start your car in neutral all the time. Anyone know if the neutral safety switch can be installed in the reverse manner????

If the vehicle is put into reverse & the lights come on. The inhibitor switch is correctly aligned. If not, slackon the nuts which secure it to the body of the gear box and adjust till the reverse lights come on. The switch then should be correctly aligned. If that does not work it will probably require a new inhibitor switch.
