1993 300D - Electrical Short Somewhere....NEED HELP PLEASE????
about 4 months ago the indicator light came on for a busted exterior light, however, this light only came on when my lights were off and i had my foot on the brake, upon turning on the exterior lights, the indicator would go out. one month ago, the indicator came on when i turned on my exterior lights, turned out to be the front left parking corner light, checked bulb, bulb was fine, noticed that the rear left parking light was out also...turned out to be a fuse, fuse number 8, i replaced the fuse and it went the second that i turned on my parking lights. I must have a short somewhere, has anyone ever had this problem? i dont want to have to resort to a dealer for this, especially if it just turns out to be a wire that needs to be capped or something simple...

Thanks in advance...

My left front parking light goes off every once in a while and the dash indicator lights up. When the parking light comes back on, the dash light goes out.

I have heard that this can be caused by a voltage drop and that sometimes replacing the bulb will fix. For some reason, I do not think it will.

Good luck,
Edmund
I had my mechanic look at my car..first, he looked at the front corner light since i recently replaced the bulbs with hyper whites...the corner was fine...he then looked at the rear assembly, the wires were dirty and damaged...he cleaned up the harness and wires, that solved my problem...

you might want to try replacing the bulb, if that doesnt work, check the harnesses for cut wires or corrosion...

Mario
1993 300D - 72,000 miles
