I just got this 93 400E a couple of months ago and I was wondering what is the average miles per gallon for this car. I read yesterday on some website that it was supposed to be 18 city and 24 on the highway. That sounds kind of high. I only get about 20 mpg on the highway. Am I getting lower than what I should? Maybe I need a tune up. Thank you and God bless
I have a 1992 400E. 145k miles. Runs great! 18-20 mpg city, 24 highway. I run it pretty hard though. Ill see 24 mpg only on long trips where I use the whole tank of gas.<br> I do all the mantainance myself. Either take it to a dealer and spend $800 for a complete tune up, or bring everything up to date and keep good records.<br> Upon inspection, one of my ignition caps had a crack in it...not good for the mpg.
