Help...power seat problem.

Just got my '87 300D.Everthing works great except the passenger power seat.It goes fwd.& back and reclines but the seat tilt is NO GO either way.I hear the motor trying to move the seat so I know it's fine.It sounds like it's jammed on something. There is nothing in the seat tracks
either.Any solutions? My book just gives procedures for seat remvl./inst. Thanks.....
P.S.Wife wants it fixed...help me out guys.
