1994 E320 Wagon steering "kick-back"

I have a 1994 320 wagon with 67,500 miles
on the clock. The steering has a noticeable
clunking kick-back on bumpy surfaced roads.
This kick-back is especially pronounced in turns.
The dealer replaced the steering column bushings
under warranty but the kick-back remains
unchanged.
Question: Is this kick-back typical of the 320
cars (recirculating ball steering I believe) or
should I have the dealer check for something else?
Thanks,
LG
