1994 e320 cab: 130k owned for 1 year, never a check engine light, wiring harness replaced by previous owner. Had front brakes replaced. After the first day noticed a chemical smell (likely spray used to clean rotors, etc.), second day smell still noticeable and then the check engine light came on. Is it possible fumes are effecting a sensor? I had a non-Mercedes that required left front fender be painted - paint fumes tripped the Check Engine Light.
Am I just fishing? Do not have a code reader - yet. Saw where I can reset by putting ignition to #2 position, pressing button (soon to be located). Any other suggestions?
Check codes, cel usually emission related, mine was coming on and wouldn't pass smog, replaced 02 sensor, still cel, replaced plugs cel went away ,passed smog! old plugs were platinum junk
Disconnected battery - light off (for now). Could not find 'button' listed in other areas of the forum for reset purposes. Does this car have one or too old/new? If yes, where's it located?
