Check Engine Light - New Brakes

1994 e320 cab: 130k owned for 1 year, never a check engine light, wiring harness replaced by previous owner. Had front brakes replaced. After the first day noticed a chemical smell (likely spray used to clean rotors, etc.), second day smell still noticeable and then the check engine light came on. Is it possible fumes are effecting a sensor? I had a non-Mercedes that required left front fender be painted - paint fumes tripped the Check Engine Light.

Am I just fishing? Do not have a code reader - yet. Saw where I can reset by putting ignition to #2 position, pressing button (soon to be located). Any other suggestions?

Update - light off

Disconnected battery - light off (for now). Could not find 'button' listed in other areas of the forum for reset purposes. Does this car have one or too old/new? If yes, where's it located?

Hogan,

The code reader for your car is built in and located on the compartment wall, to the inside of the battery. Read all of this link - http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w124...eader+location

Good Luck
