Hello!
I'm having some trouble getting my w124 220E 1993 to run smooth as it should, it tends to misfire (I THINK) and run rough with poor milage too.
I'll start with what I've done so far:
* I took out the cable harness and replaced all the cracked cables with new ones
* Changed Spark plugs
* Put in a brand new OVP relay
* Run diagnostics with blinker and carsoft 7.4 interface/software
The odd thing is that both the blink code reader and carsoft both say everything is OK when clearly it's not. I've used the russian guys software (hfmscan) to diagnose the car without success (no errors) too.
The car always starts up fine but you can clearly feel and hear it's not running like it should, first initial seconds when the cold start is on it's all right, but as soon as the RPM drops you can feel it running rough, cold as warm, it's always the same (eliminating open loop mode).
When you sit in the car at idle you can feel it shaking on and off like someone bumps the car (not as bad) and when revving the engine to say 2500rpm you can hear it misfiring or running rough, or when shifting from neutral to drive the RPM will go bouncing up and down for a couple of seconds and then stabilize (a bit too low ~600rpm).
Just went out and took some pictures of the spark plugs, but not really useful since they are pretty new (2 months tops)
Any advise is appriciated
