Oil Pressure Sensor Failed again within a week

Please give an advise.
My car W124 E220 1995 Engine M111. Last week I have noticed that the Oil pressure gauge was failure when I switch on the key at position 2 before start the engine the oil gauge needle is swing and pointed at 3 bar and still there without a move until I switch off the key. I decided to change a new OEM Oil pressure sensor see pic. All go fine when I switch on position 2 the needle still at 0 bar as soon as I start the engine the needle clime up to 3 and when the engine temp is around 90 it will swing from 3 to 2 and 3 depend on I press the pedal. That is what I think it's normal. Today when I switch on at position 2 before I start the engine the needle is sprung up to 3 bar and still there until switch off..Oh...what going on.? Please help what going to check.?

Has the lower engine harness been changed?

That will cause the problem your describing.

Thanks a lot Clark.
I haven't change it before and I think it's right time.
I have suspicious the wires of oil pressure sensor but didn't think for
the whole lower engine harness. Can it replace by DIY?

Tou can do it yourself if you do other work on your car besides oil changes.

Labor at a shop shoudn't be more then 2 hours though.

If your not comfortable with electrical work you may want a shop to do it.

my lower engine harness is original and this is happening with my car.
I took all old cables off and used electrical tape to fix harness as much as i can before i left us. Once i go back i have to continue doing this.
No use throwing parts untill you change this harness.
Good thing my main harness was changed long ago.

Thanks for advise.
Yesterday I discussed with Benz Electrician he supposed the plug was too old.
I checked it myself and found that the oil sensor plug was cracked and brittle
I pushed it a bit more tighter and some part of its cover shell was broken off
but the oil pressure gauge returns to normal function. I think I should buy new sensor plug and make a new wire and let see what happen.
