OVP Relay and water...evil

The Bible says that money is a root of all kinds of evil. Water in the electrics is pretty much the same. Had the "something running in the engine compartment until the battery is dead" and "clicking ABS" symptoms and suspected the OVP relay. Read a post somewhere about a tech that found water in one and the problems that caused. I had the temerity to laugh at that.

Replaced my relay, turned over the old one and I think the whole thing was full. I knew the top "hatch" on the relay was missing, but didn't think so much water got into that area under the bonnet. Now I know better. At $30 for an aftermarket relay, its a cheap fix.

It happens a lot of the time as the plastic shield develops cracks or is not installed correctly and it practically acts as a spout to drip all water right on top of the relay. The relay will generally not be too happy about it...
