88 260e question

I have a 260e that the backend sways back and forth when you step on the gas and when you hit bumps. Has anyone else experienced this? I was told stabilizer pins but just wanted to get another opinion.

Sounds like the bushings at the ends of the rear suspension links are shot. This is common. Under normal braking I never noticed a problem but under heavy braking the car actually steered to the left. The lower links on both side were the cause in my case. They are relatively cheap and easy to install. They come with new hardware from M/B.

^ This. Same deal on my wagon. You'll need to buy a new rear control arm set.
When I accelerate it turns to the left, but when I lift off, it returns to the right. It's most noticeable on the freeway.

The rear end control arm bushings are shot. Very common. You just replace the whole arm assembly as necessary. The lower, front arm forward bushings seem to go first in my experience.
