vss or speed pulse wire

anyone no where the vss/speed pulse wire is located, i have a 300ce and im fitting a pioneer satnav screen, i was told behind the instrument cluster, any ideas and the wire colour.

The wire you're looking for is green with a yellow stripe and it runs from the back of the speedometer to a junction block under the dash. Pics below. When you pull the cluster be sure to 1) telescope the steering column outward as far as it will go and 2) unclip the speedo cable from the plastic shield under the dash at the steering column. There's probably an unused pin on the signal distribution block X53/5 so no need to cut or tap into the wire itself.

Depending on your model and year, you may be able to get the speed signal from an input to the back of radio. The stereo system uses this input to adjust volume according to vehicle speed..... Much easier access than pulling the cluster.

How many pulses per revolution are there? The old school Becker sat nav that I am installing min my car asks for this information. Thanks for any help given!
