Manual to Power Seat Swap?
I've got a German import 124 wagon with worn, manual fabric seats and picked up a parts wagon with perfect mb tex power seats. Any ideas on how difficult this switch might be?
I've done it and it's a real PITA. My 88 260E didn't have any power seats or telescoping column so I bought a wrecked 88 300E withthe same coor interior and transferred tht stuff. The biggest hassle is threading the seat control switch wiring up to the door switches.
Basically the seat wiring harness goes from the left side of the dash all the way to the right front door (seat control switch) with branches to the left seat switch, left seat, ground under the shifter, right seat.
Can it be done? Absolutely, I did it. It's a lot of work though.
