Advise on Tires and Break Sensors

Got 16 SLK wheels. Installed with used Continental Conti's. Noisy so had it checked. One tire needs to be changed so changing two.

Goodyear

Americas Tire Co 216 installed for two new 16's (225)

Any other advise on tires. I am looking for soft ride and Quite Ride.

ABS light comes on and off at times. Shop says change Sensors and do 60k service car has 64k. 1988 260e. 350 for 60k service.

Any advise welcomed

I don't see how brake wear sensors can affect the ABS. I think there's something wrong in the translation and that your mechanic recommended changing the wheel speed sensors. Changing wheel speed sensors would make a lot of sense. Or maybe the tone wheel (serrated wheel with teeth on the hub) needs to be cleaned, or maybe the pickup coil next to the tone wheel has some debris on it.

Have you tried reading the codes? I don't know if you can read for wheel sensor codes on your model.
