I have a 1992 300te that is failing to turn over (start). Its sounds like its going to start but then it just sputters and never fully starts up. Once in a while it does start but then it just dies after a few minutes. At first I thought it was bad gas or water in the tank so then I added some fuel additive. No luck. The car has been running fine but all of sudden this hit.
The wagon has about 198k, it has engine oil, coolant and hydraulic fluid. Its engine is the standard straight six.
coils, wires, plugs, cap and rotor. Normal tune up. My 400E did just the same thing. I dont know the year of your car but you may change the engine wiring harness.
i'd try jumpering pins 7 & 8 on the fuel pump relay receptacle to be sure the pumps are running. Have you tried feeding some gas pedal while you're starting?
When was the last time she was tuned up as mentioned prior? Fuel filter changed last? O2 sensor??
