92' 300D- low oil pressure a problem?

greetings all,

would like to solicit your opinion on a matter.

my 92 300D 2.5 Turbo seems to have low oil pressure. She has been idling around 1K, but as we use the a/c more, it barely rises above 0 at idling.

is this cause for concern? engine sounds fine, nothing abnormal in driving.
it of course gets up in the 2-3K range when accelerating or highway speeds.
