Holy crap! Glad you're OK, that was a heckuva lick that car took.

A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy . . .
My memory's not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
I am sorry to hear about the loss. I too had a 400E save my life right after i restored it. I rolled mine and it looked quite a bit better than yours but what it did was to make me a true believer in the safety of these cars.

I am not sure what I am going to do with the salvage.
Good for you that you're OK.
If you decide what to do with the car, let me know.
I'm interested in :
- airbox behind headlight L and R
- hoses for airfilter to airboxes L and R
- black plastic cover between thermostat and airfilter
WOW! that is way more damage that I expected to see when you described the accident! But obviously the impact was intense. The cabin held up incredibly well.
I can't imagine you don't have some sort of whiplash or something.
