E-320 Gas pedal Play / A/C Aux fan

just bought a 1994 E-320 Wagon with 171k miles and I'm trying to work out some of the bugs.
(Still waiting for my shop manual to arrive)
The gas pedal seems to have excessive “play” (slack) before it engages the throttle. This is a problem during slow driving and backing because it causes me to accidentally gun the motor. I tried adjusting the cable on the engine side but it appears to be maxed out (at the end of the threads). Could the cable be stretched? Or is there another adjustment in another place I could try? Didn't see any adjustments inside passenger cabin behind the gas pedal.

Also,........ Does anybody know if the auxiliary fans come on automatically with the A/C or do they come on when the A/C Head pressure reaches a cretin point?

Low speed with A/C properly charged system. High speed with engine temp.

Looks like my A/C pressure swithch is bad, Fans come on at high speed with engine temp. I Just charged the A/C w/ R134A and fans don't come on.
