Aux Fan Problem

Yesterday I noticed that my aux. fans were not coming on. One has always been "iffy", but the second worked perfectly. I've checked the fuse, changed the fuse and still nothing. One of the fans did "try" to run when I tapped it a few times, but since then nothing. I also pulled the sensor lead and jumped it. When I did that last night, the idle dropped, but no fan motion.

Is there a relay in the system I can check/change? I have spare relays for just about every thing. Thanks for the suggestions, tips.

Yes, there are two relays under the fuse box module. One is for the low speed, the other for the high speed. If you jumper the AC pressure switch (larger diameter), the fans should come on LOW speed. If you jumper the AC temperature switch (red in my car), the fans should turn on HIGH speed. This way you can determine which relay, if any, is bad.

sensors

You can also jumper both switches before you mess with the relay to see if its the sensor.

If you pull the 2 wire connection off of the thermostat gooseneck the fans should turn on at high speed. Nice easy check.
