I'm new to the forums. I've got a 1995 E320 and it needs a new wiring harness. I plan to install it myself, but as I was looking over the current one to see where the connectors go, there was one connector that I can figure out how to get to. The connector is behind the intake manifold.
Attached is a picture of the connector. Any help is appreciated.
If you take the riser on the electronic throttle off (the big black rubber tube in the left of your photo) You can fit your arm up underneath the intake from the front to access stuff like that. On my '93 and my 94 that connector is not part of the engine management harness though.
GDC is correct, that is not part of the engine wire harness. Ignore it. All of the main harness contacts are very easily accessible, the hardest probably being the one under the manifold that connects upside down.
racing_maven, your intake manifold looks really clean. You may want to cover it with towel or something when you are replacing the harness. You don't want anything drop into it by accident.
I've confirmed that the circled plug is part of the 95 harness.
