Personally? I think there is no more beautiful and desirable car than the 94/95 E320 cab.
No offense to you other MB owners, just my personal taste.
In January I purchased the nicest cab I could find. One owner, garage kept, 29,000 mile, emerald green, Florida car......gorgeous. I even found an OEM windscreen.
I couldn't be happier, and enjoy it more than any Mercedes I've ever owned!
I hope you find yours, and wish you the best.
A footnote: I'm just beginning to experience trouble with the complicated convertible top.
I fear big $$. Top worked perfectly when I bought it, but now...uh oh.
So...although I bought mine sight unseen (just pics) and got lucky, I understand you should check out the following trouble areas: Folding top mechanism
Wiring harness
Evaporator
Head gasket
Again, hope you end up with a nice one, mine is my pride and joy!
David
I believe Motorwerks in Commerce Twp has three of them currently for sale - red, silver & white. If you're not aware of them you should pay them a visit. motorwerksgroup.com
Actually those are the cars I am looking at . the silver or the red one. I am probably meeting this Saturday to look at the red one again with my wife.
I've got strong feelings about this one.
I searched for years to find the "right" E320 cab, it being my favorite MB.
Of all the Mercedes I've owned, it is flat out my favorite.
I am simply crazy about this car.....it is a joy to look at & drive.
Yes you should check out the top's hydraulic cylinders(mine went leaking), the evaporator, the wiring harness and the head gasket.....but when they're "right" I cannot imagine a greater car to own.
I don't just think they're great because I own one, I own one because I think they're great. These cars represent the quality Mercedes was known for and true understated luxury. Can you imagine that you could own one for the price of a late model Toyata?
Absolutely in my humble opinion BUY ONE. Try to get the best one you can find.
In addition, they may even turn out to be a good investment.
Good luck and all the best,
A very happy E320 cab owner,
David
When I was looking for my cab, over three years ago, the only local low-mileage one I found after months of searching was the one I bought. I'm happy, but it would have been better to get one with a white or light tan interior. The black seats get hot as hell in the sun.
The light-colored interiors get dirty rather quick, and show it. Therein lies the balance of color choice.
I think it's rather silly for MB to offer leather in their cabriolets. Leather is a horrible choice for convertibles. Cloth or MB-Tex is better. Cloth doesn't burn in the sun.
