There are a few days of the year when you will blow his car away. You'll know when this is because the ground will be covered with some white stuff :-)

last weekend in california,
There was a snow storm, having 4matic would have saved us if we didnt have an Audi.

i disagree... the rear drive 300e performs pretty damn well in the snow cause of its thin tires. i had one in colorado during a winter snow storm and, for a car with no traction control or stability control, it was pretty comfortable on the roads. granted i wasn't flooring it around, but 4-wheel drive doesnt help you stop any faster just move forward faster.

Well said, though it does help going around corners. A good and capable driver can get through snow almost just as easily as a 4 wheel drive counterpart, but the issue is that 4wd gives some people a false sense of safety and confidence. Most don't realize that the braking part is where accidents happen and yet they feel safer, which I think is not good, because stopping is the hardest part. It's like people with SUV's around here, you will see them barrel past you in a snow storm then a couple miles down road they're in the ditch.
Not saying all are like that, but we've all seen it I'm sure. And Dudley, I've gotta say that's a real nice lookin ride you've got in your sig!

not to get off topic, but my mom has a w203 c280 4matic and that thing is like a snow cat. Back in connecticut it snowed a few inches of real loose power and i took the car out to a big open parking lot with no light poles or center dividers just to see what it woudl do and i couldn;t get it to slide, even if i floor it or turn it will apply brakes to certain wheels. I know some of you will say thats cheatign cuz the car doign the work but that little car is hella safe in snow i must say. And acording to my indy who himself has a 4matic its gotten him home form the shop in the ct winters (he has a 93 same as mine)
