What did I break now?

I just bought my 94 E320 2 weeks ago. The oil pressure gauge has never worked. I bought a new oil pressure sending unit (OPSU) thinking this would solve the problem. When I checked the old unit I noticed the wire connected to it was losing its shielding.
I took an uneducated guess and thought replacing the engine wiring harness and a new OPSU would solve the problem.
A few people on this site and the person who sold me the wiring harness lead me to believe this harness did connect to the OPSU.

Well I just installed a new $740 wiring harness and discovered it does not run to the OPSU. Can someone tell me what harness runs to the oil pressure sending unit? I would like to replace this wire so I can rule out shorting also.

Also does anyone know of a place that describes how to replace the oil pressure sending unit? I have two manual for this car and neither mention the oil pressure sending unit at all.

I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions but here is one more. Can you name this corroded wire? How hard would it be to replace?

Help me out guys. What would be the best title to get people to look at my thread. A post 30 min after mine has had 126 views while mine has had a grand total of 13 viewers. Should I title it "nude photos of my wife" next time? I know there is someone out there that can help me.
Thanks for the few who dared to enter my thread

Me again, I now see that the time posted is not the original time of the post but the last response. Any who, someone say something, I think I'm arguing with myself,
I am,
No I'm not.
What?

I don't know specifically what that wire is called, but judging by the lost insulation there you can almost be assured that you need the replacement wiring harness. If it were my car I would trace them from end to end and replace them with the same guage wire. Wrap the new bundle with loom tape and away you go. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I believe the oil pressure sender is on the starter harness which is not all that expensive. The steps to replace are 1) buy the new one, 2) find the old one, 3) swap. It's literally just a matter of finding it and taking it out. It's at the base of the oil filter, accessed from below. You pull a wire off and take it out. If there's oil in the engine it may be a bit messy. I have a collection of rubber corks from the hardware store for temporarily plugging holes, selecting the right size stopper based on the new one. But you don't really need to plug it if you move fairly quickly. Oil doesn't really come pouring out, just sort of drips out.
