Replacing valve lifters in a 300E-24V

Is this an easy task?

Any things to watch out for?

Not a job that is for the faint of heart. Why do you suspect lifter problems?

Good Luck,

Jayare

Hi Jayare,

It's just I have a couple of noisy ones first start in the morning. Noise lasts about 2 or 3 seconds.

What weight oil are you using? If my coupe sits for a few days, I'll hear a tic or two upon start up. Not alarming to me at all.

My 300ce-24 clatters like a good'un if it's been left for more than 24 hours. After 3 seconds, silence and 28+ mpg.

I say that, after 200K miles a bit of clatter is OK - I plan to leave it until something warrants a new motor and a trip to specialist or Stuttgart.

Don't worry is my view.

Good luck.
