Unfortunately it's special tool territory. It's located in the V where the exhaust pipes come together and is quite difficult to get to, and often very tight after years of heat, etc. The suggested tool is a sort of open socket / crow's foot type thing. It's MB part # 000 71 03. Snap-On also sells one. It's 3/8 drive, 22 mm. I think they are both around $20-25. You might be able to get the old one off by cutting the wire and then using a thin wall deep 22 mm socket but of course you can't cut the wire on the new one. Once you get it off you follow the wire up into the front passenger footwell to disconnect and reconnect the new one. Not so difficult a job - with the right tool.
