Any shop suggestions in southern CA?

I have a 1991 300E and I need my transmission rebuilt.I am moving back to southern california and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on shops that do good work.I learned my lesson after taking it to AAMCO. They did horrible work. As soon as I got my car back it was still slipping and in order for the gears to shift i had to release the gas pedal. It is very annoying dealing with companies like that. After taking the car back to them four times I decided to just deal with it. I hope I make it back to california. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know ASAP. Thanks.

Depending on where you are in So Cal, Mr. MB Motors in Reseda has one of the better reps, particularly amongst the w126 members. There are several instances where a drive of several hundred miles is deemed reasonable to have Enrique work on a car.

Good luck getting back down here!

My MB/BMW tech., that works these transmissions solely, can help you out. He has all the equiptment in his garage and shop. He lives in Garden Grove (depending on your definition of socal). I referred him to a member on MBworld with tranny issues on his 300e - rebuilt it within a few days and still running strong. Pm Me for his number.

Thanks guys I am sort of local to both.I will be in costa mesa and commerce area. Not to far of a drive. I just am tired of dealing with people that say they do good work and it turns out worse.I will be back in March so I look forward to getting some more info from you guys. Thanks for the heads up.

I will very enthusiastically and wholeheartedly piggyback on the Mr. MB Motors endorsement. Enrique is an excellent person and mechanic. He can be honest to a fault, he has done work to my car that he has not charged me for. I know of other people that have had similar experiences.
