Hi, new to the forum, so bear with me.I have been racking my brain pan over my brothers, 300e 3.0L, he had some trouble with oil pressure, drove it home, and parked it, then it won't start. Had it towed to my garage and started working it over, checked all relays, OVP fuse, fuel pumps work, i get spark, but it just refuses to cooperate.I've found it studders around with excessive cranking and continuous pumps on the accelerator, but as soon as i let off it just goes back to free cranking, no shudder at all. Please help, i read on another post that they tend to be extremely sensitive to cap, wires, plugs. so i was wondering if anyone had any experience with this and if replacing the ignition components helps.Going to replace the filter tomorrow.let ya know how it goes.Thanks.Evolve by devolving, go veggie.
When you pull a plug or two are they wet with fuel or do they smell like fuel? If they're wet, dry them off and clean them before starting to troubleshoot more. Take the air filter off and spray some starting fluid in the intake. Then see if the car attempts to run. These steps will tell more about the operation of the fuel injection at this point in the process.
Come back with some more clues once you've tried the above.
thanks for the help, checked the plugs and they were wet, changed all the ignition components. And Voila! starts like a benz should.Cap was seriously done, so if you have this problem try checking your fire.
