dont worry about your oil pressure. If it is above 0 then its fine. Mercedes only makes problem installing this gauge to the instrument cluster . In other car there isn't oil pressure gauge and nobody care about pressure.

You could try a filter change if the oil is still relatively clean , if you were really low on pressure it would have lifter noise and rod knocking climbing hills .

I suspect it is your oil pressure sending unit. A very easy DIY job and not expensive. It screws on and is located on the back side of the the oil filter block toward the firewall. Single wire lead on it. Look behind and below the oil filter and you'll see it.

Good Luck,

Jayare

Oil pressure not reaching 3.0 is indeed cause for concern, but as said is likely a bad sending unit, relatively inexpensive and easy to install.

when i bought the car it had penzoil 5-15 i think cheap and bad and the oil pressure was at 0.8 when fully wormed at idling so i drained it and wen't with thick lucas 100% synthetic oil which is like 15$ a bottle lol so i got that in and the pressure went up to 1.5 when fully wormed idling and i was very happy with it and now few days ago this happens but as u guys say it probably faulty gauge tx now i can sleep easier

You shouldn't actually sleep easier until you confirm that it's a faulty gauge either by testing the pressure or replacing the gauge. Low oil pressure is not to be triffled with.

What do you mean by "thick" lucas oil?

If your running to thick of oil your asking for more trouble, the oil pump isnt supposed to be pumping very heavy oil. It will cause more stress.

Mercedes Benz only specify 40 weight oils. And the only Synthetic oil they recommend is Mobil 1, you should be using 5w40, 0w40, 10w40 oils in these engines. Anything thicker and your asking for trouble, especially from Lucas they make terrible products.

i know with thicker oil that the pump has to work harder but with 10-40 oils my pressure will be below 1 so i usually go buy lucas one bottle oil which is like 80 or something weight and the pressure goes up i don't know what to do use oils that u said and have low pressure or use thicker oil and have the pump work harder what would u guys recommend me to do is it ok if the pressure is at 0.8 when fully wormed i know these engines can work at 0.3 with out any damage but i kinda like when my oil pressure is higher then 1 and one more thing i went to one of my local mechanic just to ask him about my low oil pressure he said since its leaking oil on crankshaft seal cover that can reduce ur oil pressure it doesn't have to be worn out rods and stuff like that i all ready bought the seal and will be replacing it very soon so will see what happens

All oil pumps have a pressure relief / adjustment valve. Some are factory set with a spring others can adjust the spring pressure to maintain a more stable pressure at different temps or
rpms
. If the pump wears ,gears /gear cover - has a sticky relief plunger - dirty filter ,,,, these can all reduce pressure and flow .

If your sensor is reading the correct pressure you should see an increase 10-50 / 20-50 oil . I
wouldn't
go any thicker than that . I
don't
think the pump will work any harder with 50 or 60 wt oil - its like a tea to milk increase for the pump . I would worry more about the flow of thicker oil than the pressure.
