w124 230ce idle surge then stall

HI,

I am new here and i from Singapore,

my car 1988 w124 230ce 8v has the following problems and seek for help..

As i pull into gear D, the idle drops a lot (300rpm) but then comes right back up to 750rpm within 2 sec...when i pull back into N, it shoot up to 1200rpm then comes right back again..cold or hot..

If i full turn the steering during gear D PULLING, the engine will stall.

my indy mech said i got a worn engine.

things tried: ovp, coil, plug, wire, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel distributor, fuel accumulator.

when cold start: the rpm will remain at 750, same as hot...

ANY IDEA PLS AS I WANT TO KEEP THE CAR.

Take out and clean your idle control valve (ICV). Also check you engine mounts.

You can never go wrong with a good tuneup
But the idle surge may be a vacuum leak so I would take out the idle valve and run some throttle cleaner through it and also check out the hoses going to and from it.

Das 88 cars have a oxigen sensor? Could be that. I had idle surge like that for a cople of days then it disapeared by itself. After the mechanic was doing diferent repair he toled me thet on cople of ocasions I had oxigen censor failur. I never toled him about the idle problem. I still have not done anyting about it and the car is good for now. I probably will replace the senor soon any way. This problem apeared after I use some octane busters for a wile. The car I am tallking about is 94 E420.
