Hi Augapfel. I am in South Africa and my Merc is a 1992 200E and looks very similar to the one in Jayare's avatar, except that mine has 4 doors. I am sure you are correct about all the vacuum servos being connected via a common pipe system, but this seems to have been an electrical problem. Everything worked 100% from the drivers door, but only the trunk would unlock/lock from the trunk. Perhaps some or other electrical relay got stuck and became unstuck by cutting the power? Anyway, it is still working perfectly - hope it stays that way.
