could someone provide me with the data for a replacement battery for 1995 E320?
i've searched around and have found conflicting information.
some say group 48, others group 49 battery.
my owner's manual states 12V / 62Ah ===> does that mean 620 cold crank amp (CCA)?
i thought i read somewhere that the 1995 E320 required 850 CCA.
feedback please - thanks.

If you go to the Interstate Batteries website you may find the information you're looking for.
62Ah is 62 Amperes hour which is the current delivery rate not the maximum cold cranking amps rating.
It is a 48. I once was told by a supposedly knowledgeable person that there are only three manufacturers of batteries and for his money, the Deka battery by East Penn was the best. I bought one, but can't offer you a strong opinion other than it started the car for several years until I sold it... Not like batteries are common replacement items. At least not for me.

I have been buying car batteries for over 35 years and always used Sears Diehard and NEVER have had a single problem and there are times that I will have a car that gets turned on twice a year so some of these batteries have been abused hard.
Group 48/91 is the correct battery! Group 49/93 can be used as a good substitute but make sure it fits!!
Die Hard (Gold/International), Advanced Auto Parts (Titanium), Interstate, Autozone (Duralast) and Costco are all made by the same company Johnson Controls to similar specs. Pick your price and drive happy
Sears also has a new Die Hard battery above their Gold called Platinum which is a gel battery like the Optima battery and was rated very high. So if you really need a gel battery you have something to look at other than Optima. But the regular batteries are really good. I got 6 years out of my Optima for a car parked outside 24/7, not worth it seeing as my neighbor got the same mileage out of a Duralast.
Thanks Yal! I couldn't remember the third company. I think all U.S.made batteries, no matter the brand, are made by either Johnson Controls, Exide or East Penn. I do remember the absolute worst I have ever had, though. They were all OEM in my Volkswagens. Brand was Varta, I think an old East German communist plant. One actually exploded (almost) through the hood.
^You're going to laugh, Johnson Controls took over Varta recently and are now making those batteries too LOL Check it out, look at the bottom left of this link...
Both of the batteries you mentioned will work in our cars. However, I would vote for the 49/93. Although bigger, this will definitely fit perfectly the battery tray of a Mercedes. Also, they have a bigger CCA value (usually around 800) . Being from the Bay Area in CA, I definitely would prefer to have a bigger CCA valued battery in my car.
