Is there any one out there has found a better way of removing and replacing the Neutral Safety Switch?
What I did before was to remove the bolts from the flex disk and the engine mounting bolts, raise the engine so the tranny goes down to expose the switch - on the 190E.
I don't know if this will work with the 300E.
You're supposed to be able to get it without dropping anything, but it is tight, helps to have small hands and quarter drive sockets.
I know it is so cramped in there. Sweat it is then sweat it is.
Is it 10mm on qtr driver, the way I look at it, the thing that will give me problems is the wiring connector. It seems to be stuck in there real tight.
The wiring connector has a locking mechanism. Twist the white ring clockwise to unlock and then use a flat blade screwdriver to pop the connector off. It should be easy. Don't raise the engine, just fit a 10mm socket into the 2 bolts, loosen, and remove the switch.
