Ward, there are ways to store cars properly but they are pretty involved. I might just put it in a garage with a trickle charger on it and have someone you trust drive it at least once a month to keep the seals, etc properly lubricated. these cars prefer to be driven.

Ever car perfers to be driven. One solution is to give it to me for the time being, but I doubt that is the most economical route. I agree with alex in that you need to have someone drive it somewhat at leat once a month.
It's sad to think that I could turn the keys over to a complete stranger on this forum and they would probably take better care of the car than a member of my own family.
Thanks for the input. I'll keep it in mind if/when the time comes to put her in storage.
At present I have my 80 300 D in storage at a storage facility since Nov. 1. At the time they did not have a single bay that could accomadate the lenght of the car. They let me store it inside a large warehouse type bay with several other cars until a single bay became available for the car. This bay was heated somewhat and would never get below freezing. The storage facility just called yesterday and said that they have a single bay now available for the car.
The only thing is that the single bay is not heated and has no electric plug in inside. It does have light and a large metal door which you put your own lock on. Now my question is should I leave the battery in the veh.( 3 yr old Intersate ) or remove it for the storage time which I suspect will be at least until March or when the roads clearup of snow etc.I have put new oil in it as well as fuel stabilizer for the storage period.
I have easy access to the car and could start it up every once in a while as the temps in the area can get to -20 C outside and how cold it will get inside an unheated bay , who knows.
So, do I remove the battery and put it on a trickle charge and put it back in the spring or leave it in and start it up every once in a while ?
