German speaking w124 owners

I have a question for anyone who speaks German. I found this cool w124 video on youtube. I get most of it, but at around 2:20 the narrator starts to explain some technical stuff and then you start to see computer diagrams and animations with something with the wheels. What does all that mean, is that stuff on my 1987 300D? It looks cool but I was wondering it that was some kind of traction control thing that was out later, or is it explaining the ABS?

Thanks.

Great video. I wish I understood German

At the point you indicate I believe they are talking about all the different options available in the W124 at that time, ASD, SLS, ABS and 4MATIC.

AND... the infamous ASR, wich I believe they were talking about since the brake caliper was also represented.

ASR - Acceleration skid control - Cuts back power and uses the ABS system to maintain traction and direction during take off. ASR has gotten better over the years, I think they are on ASR V now or something.

ASD - Automatic locking diff - Its a hydraulic actuated locking differential, which uses a hydraulic pump to activate friction plates in the diff to lock both sides of the diff at low speeds.

SLS - Self leveling suspension - It automatically levels the rear suspension back to the height regardless of how much weight is loaded into the car, within reason of course

4Matic - Should be self explanatory - Like ASR it has also gone under many changes since it debuted and is very different from what it was in the beginning.

Its pretty self explanatory, I understand 95% of it - Panorama wiper – 3 way catalytic converter – 6 door limo – First 4 seat convertible in 20 yrs . The guy sort of narrates as the video shows systems operating. No real info there

I laugh at the term Kote fleugel (spelling ) which means fender in German , the literal translation is turd deflector / turd wing , It cracks me up .

Uboater hat das richtig gesagt. There's nothing said you can't pick up from the video. and ya gotta love a language that strains to be techincally correct (maybe that's the origin of German over-engineering)? My favorite word? Vacuum cleaner. Saubermacher? Heck no. Staubsauger - dust sucker!

I love the triple -quad -compound words .luftverschumtzung = smog
Wiederverwertung = recycling . There is one that goes for two or three lines , which means " Twin screw fast cruise ship group commanders hat " loosely translated .
