tranmission shifting rough

hi, just wondering, my 260E transmission absolutely rough from 2nd to 3 rd, i read many threads within this forum, just adjust the modulator vacuum. and i did.
well now the shifting is quite soft, but some mechanics said don't adjust the modulator if you don't have any experience with it, because it will make your car less power, clutch durability, etc....

any advise????

thanks

Is you fluid at the correct level? If yes, then you might change the fluid and filter before you change the modulating pressure settings.

yup, the fluid at the correct level, no leakage as well....

ehmmm... every time i change the fluid and filter the shifting goes smooth, but only couple of weeks, after that, the rough shifting... back again

i mean, by adjusting the modulator can effect the durability of the clutch??
