I am not sure about the 92 400E wiring harness. It is a unique part, 93 is a new part number, and the wiring harness problems on the 104 motor didn't start until HFM in 93 (in the U.S.). 92 400E throttle actuators are not problematic, not to say none have ever failed, as long as you don't have ASR. I don't think any of the non-ASR throttle actuators suffer from widespread premature failure - seems to be largely an ASR related problem.
What's with it about Benz dealers? They must know that their customers have money to burn because their used cars are priced accordingly. They probably made a killing on the deal that involved this car, now want to sell it and do it again. Why not just price it fairly, sell it quickly, then earn a customer for years to come. Lots of good examples of cars like this are for sale all across this country for around half this dealer's sticker price. I've dealt with guys like this before. They act insulted when you make a reasonable offer for their cars, then tell you your well-cared-for trade is nearly worthless. Please. I'd look elsewhere.
Would it be too much for them to find matching tires all the way around this car? Maybe the mismatched front and rear tires were a dealer option. How exclusive!
