Well, unless your CE has SLS the struts for the 500E are part of a SLS [Self Leveling Suspension] which is going to require an good amount of plumbing work, replacement of your power steering pump with a model that addresses the SLS.

You are also going to get a numerically higher rearend which is going to change all your shift points and bump up your gas usage by about 20%.

Third, the ride height is going to be different with the 500 rear end and there were extra suspension pieces associated with the 500 that is not on the stock 124 chassis cars.

It will all bolt together but is going to take a bunch of work. Keep us posted as to how it went together and what all was required.

If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about answers.

Great , Thanks for your wisdom. My car doesnt have sLs.So im not going to convert it to that system . So for that instance do I just replace the 500e strut with a regular non sls strut. Also , is this a strong rear end. What about the ASR ?

You will have to disable the ASR also as you don't have it programmed into the rest of the system. That should be a simple unplug if I am not mistaken [I have not tried that type of disconnect of the ASR].

As for the struts, I think you are going to need more than just the strut. Call Luke at Tire Rack and ask him about converting a 500E rear end to Bilstein without SLS. You might have to get springs also. I can't remember at this hour.

And yes, it is a strong rear end. I am on a group of 500E only guys and some tend to do pretty much everything to their cars and I have never heard of a rear end going out.
