Hey guys I have a 1989 300E W124 that is my sweetie for when I am in college. I drive the 1995 C280 W202 when I am home in NYC. I am restoring the 300E and I was stuck on whether to update her to the 94-95 look but decided on the nostalgic approach. I am going to get the more powerful Euro lenses and keep the 86-93' hood.
But then there's a problem. I have noticed that the Euro Headlamps were greyish dark from 86-92' and in 93' the shade changed to a nicer looking Snow color which would look better since my car is Onyx Metallic. That lasted only for one year since in 94 the headlamps were redesigned for the modern hood but kept the same snow color that you see in the 94-95's. This is all my specualtion based on a massing photo album and careful consideration of lighting. So it brings me to my Questions.
Does anyone agree or disagree?
Can I call a Dealer in Germany or South america and order the parts, if not whome to contact in Bosch?
Do the Euro Bosch Lights have parts numbers? If they do, does anyone know the Part numbers for a 300E 1993 pair of headlights w/Bosch Clear Corners? Supposedly the Part Dept Supervisor at my dealership can order anypart if I give it to him. Dealer in NYC btw.
The only reason I speak of a Dealer so much is that I am a purist and want to keep it 100% original with no doubt in my mind that its not a knock off part.
Here is a Pic of my Project Car with the Regular U.S Spec Lamps and Amber corners.

This is what most Euro lamp owners buy from TYC and such.
