Where was my 1990 300TE 4matic built?

Hello everyone,

I was told that most Mercedes models were built in Germany. Maybe only the ML was built in the USA.

Is there a web site that specifies which country builds which cars, which models?

It was built in Germany. At least where the consumer models are concerned, only the M-Class and now the R-Class (maybe the GL-Class too?) are produced in the Tuscaloosa County, Alabama factory.

Two of the letters in the VIN actually indicate which factory it came out of, if you care.
