Question What tool do I need to remove the 8 axle bolts connecting axle to the differential?

I need to replace my axle and I heard that the bolts holding the axle to the differential are a special type.

What kind of bit is needed and what size?

Yeah, I think Sergio is correct and those bolts are a real PITA to remove. Access is very difficult.

Springman,

The hex bit that is needed is a 12 point, 10MM. The exhaust will need to be dropped (take off the hangers) if you are working on the drivers side. The giant nut on the end of the axel is a 30MM.

Good Luck,

Jayare
