Trunk Handle

Hey Guys,

I purchased the '91 and up trunk filler panel for my '90 300E and I am having some major trouble installing it. It has some tabs that have to slip under the rubber trunk assist handle. There is no clearance whatsoever between trunk and handle. My questions are:

1. Does anybody have any advice on installing this thing?

2. Can somebody please tell me how to remove the trunk assist handle?

You need to remove the inner trunk liner as there are nuts back there that need to be removed to get the handle off.

Visit Rik Johnsons W124.036 and look under the exterior section, scroll down and you will see some pictures during my removal of this item.

I bought it from a guy on ebay. He was selling three of them. Search for "W124 trunk update...". There aren't any for sale as of the writing of this message but if my research is correct he should still have one left.
