1987 300E Mercedez stops when driving! Hello I have a problem with my car and would appreciate any answers and help.
I have a Mercedez 300E Engine 124 model and the car starts and while driving for a while around town it just stops. It periodically stops when driving or at a stop light. Could anyone tell me what the problem is? Can anyone solve my dillemma?

Does it turn back on with no problem? Does it only happen when you let off the gas?

It does it while I'm driving on the road and sometimes while I'm at a stop light. After it stops, I have to wait for a couple of minutes then I start it back up and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Even if I put my food on the pedal to start it and give it some juice. Usually, I let off it so I don't irritate my car and then I try starting up again and it works eventually.

A number of things can cause this.
How many miles on the car? How long have the cap and rotor been in there?
The first thing is to check the cap and rotor. Many M103 will have this symptom when the cap and rotor are severely worn and corroded.

At a guess I would say fuel pump or the fuel pump relay. The next thing would be the crank position sensor.
