Hey Everyone - So far I've replace the plugs/wires, tires, repaired and exhaust leak and now I'm on to engine mounts.
Where is a good place to buy the mounts online? And is the life of the tranny mount the same as the engine mounts? I was looking so save some $$ and time by only replacing the engine mounts.
just a tip for doing this replacement. start the bolts in the top and the bottom before you tighten either one. alignment is difficult if you tighten either one before starting the others.
actually, they "locate" on the engine support in a little tab on the mount. do one side at a time. it does seem as though the engine "floats" in the cradle. but i guess that is why you don,t feel the vibs as much.
After reading the posts on changing engine mounts, I believe I will try to do mine as well.
Mountainredneck, you say to do one side at a time - I guess there is enough room to move the engine up on one side to remove the mount without affecting anything else???
yes, plenty of room. use a piece of wood say a 2x8x10 etc. under the pan. loosen the bottom bolts on one side first. i believe it is a 10MM socket head cap screw. use allen wrench, obviously. then use floor jack or suitable and jack up the engine until the mounts raise up off the support about 1+ inches. then remove top bolt from engine mount. i forget the size, but it is a hex head bolt. definately metric. take out old mount, insert new mount, you will see a little slot where it locates on the top of the mount only. start top bolt, do not tighten yet. leave it where it will wiggle around a bit. lower engine until mount rests back on subframe. it helps to have an assitant to run the jack. still can do alone though. watch up through subframe for bottom bolt hole to be close to alignment. start bottom bolt. leave a little loose. tighten top bolt down. then tighten bottom bolt. ditto for the other side. it takes about 30 min to do both sides with jack operator. you will be suprised how easy the engine and tranny moves around with you tugging on it while doing this.

You are conversing with someone with a 124 body straight six. Your car is a 210 with a V6 - completely different animal. You should post the question on the 210 forum.
i jacked my car up when i replaced mine. i assume everybody has theirs off the ground. you will almost have to jack it up to replace them. they are low to the ground. sorry to confuse you. if you don,t have at a minimum; jack stands, floor jack, allen wrench 10MM, then you may have to hire it done. or at least borrow some ones lift to do the job.
I just replaced both engine mounts at 102000 miles to eliminate the vibration at idle which it did but the unexpected benefit has been the greatly improved feel of the car. Obvious in hindsight. I suppose.
hi from Noo Zealand,
just had the engine mount replced today as vibes at idle when in drive.
All up cost NZ$440 = about US$300. only an hrs labour at nz$65.Us$44. includes all taxes.
